Since it hasn’t been as popular in the hemp industry as THCa and Delta 8, we get a lot of questions about our THCp flower from customers across the US. Below you’ll find answers to our most frequently asked questions about THCp.
THCp (tetrahydrocannabiphoral) is a relatively recent cannabinoid, found by researchers back in 2019. It’ not a synthetic, but a naturally occuring cannabinoid found to be up to 33 times more potent than traditional delta 9 THC.
Now, this doesn’t mean that every THCp product on the market is going to knock you out for a week. Rather, most THCp products on the market, whether it’s flower pounds or vape carts, THCp distillate is carefully measured out and applied to products to give each product a good level of potency inline with traditional Delta 9 products.
Since it’s such a newfound cannabinoid, there is a lot of research to be done but the benefits are clear, and customers are asking for THCp flower more and more.
Unlike traditional cannabis, CBD or CBG flower, there are actually no strains that produce flower that’s naturally high in THCp and devoid of THCa or Delta 9. For this reason, THCp flower must be created with a low THC base flower like CBD or CBG.
Once the base flower is prepared, it is then “sprayed” with a fine layer of THCp distillate which coats the non-psychoactive flower with the psychoactive THCp.
Once it is dried and tested, this flower is ready to be shipped to smoke shops and can be consumed like any other cannabis flower product.

Absolutely! The psychoactive effects of THCp are estimated to be roughly 33 times more potent by weight than Delta 9 THC. Again, this does not mean THCp flower and other products are going to make someone 33x more high, that would be dangerous.
When THCp is used it’s used in carefully measured, smaller concentrations to mimic the same psychoactive effects as traditional Delta 9 flower.
